Time is Money? Or MORE than money?

Time is Money I've always been fond of saying "Time is Money". I do sometimes wonder if the sentiment can be expressed better, but in business, the crux is that you don't want to be wasting time. Which is why we've always advocated automating labour intensive tasks - there are many cases when a computer system can simplify complex tasks and reduce the time they take - an application form process which we are currently building for one of our clients is a great example.

However, sometimes it's actually the "little" things that have a big impact - psychologically, if not financially too. A fantastic example of this popped up yesterday and is too good not to blog.

As part of our every-day banking procedures, we check for invoices that are due for payment shortly, overdue for payment, very overdue for payment and so forth - and contact clients as appropriate. I've long been a proponent of sending "pre-minders" a couple of days before bills are due, too.

Now KashFlow does this for us. We've used KashFlow for ages and have always been quick to recommend it - it's a great accounting package and yesterdays news only reminds us of how hard the team behind it work on making (and keeping) it great.

After filling in a simple configuration form, which allows you to customise when reminders are sent, how they are worded and so forth, it takes over - sending pre-minders and reminders alike to your customers, automatically. I'd estimate it's going to save me at least an hour a month, which might not sound a lot, but for an extra feature added at no extra cost, it's definitely a winner.

Thanks, KashFlow!
