Data Authoring and Upload process

Performing an Upload

To perform a data upload, follow the steps below.

Creating your upload

If you are uploading a single XLS file only, ignore this section. If you wish to upload a zip file and are not sure how to do so (these instructions assume that you are using Microsoft Windows XP or later):

  1. Copy your images and XLS into a new folder on your desktop (or another location of your choosing)
  2. Ensure this folder has a meaningful name e.g. "Data Update 5 Dec 2008"
  3. Right click the folder and select "Send to compressed (zipped) folder". This will create a zip folder on your desktop which can be used for uploading

Uploading your file

  1. Log in to the eCommerce administration system using your email address and password
  2. Navigate to the 'Legacy' tab
  3. Select 'Manage Data Uploads' from the menu
  4. Scroll down and select 'Create new Upload'
  5. Click the browse button, navigate to the location on your computer containing your upload file and click OK
  6. Click 'upload file'
  7. Once the file has loaded (this may take some time, depending on the speed of your connection and the size of the file), you will be presented with information about your upload
  8. Click the relevant links to review the data changes being made, and to examine any warnings or errors detected in your data
  9. Click "approve" or "reject" to complete your upload
